The pandemic has changed the world of artists and art: freelancers, companies and institutions have had to be inventive to maintain a strong bond with their communities. Mind the gap is a project that stems from the idea of collecting and building on all the creative and digital tools that artists have used over the last couple of years.
Led by an international consortium of art institutions, universities, networks and organisations supporting the creative industries, the project aims to define best practices for online art dissemination and practices, provide artists and educators with tools to work digitally and, ultimately, improve access to participatory arts for all.
On 9 April at 6.00 pm in Matera, in Casa Cava, a Digital Booster event will be held to present the research of the project and the results of the co-creation of about twenty international artists residing in Matera who, during the Beyond Zoom residency, will co-create performative ideas for the digital participation of communities, inspired by good practices developed during the pandemic across Europe.
In addition, during the event, international artists and the public will enter into dialogue with three Lucanian best practices:
Open Sound | Co-creation project of traditional music and electronic music presented by Multietnica
Sounds of the near future | Shared phonography project, sound mapping and musical co-creation
Blind Cinema - Cinema ad alta luce | Digital accessibility project for the blind presented by Lucania Film Festival
The event is aimed at artists and operators in the cultural sector. Participation is free.
The event will be conducted mainly in English with some interventions in translation.
